Our Work.

How to keep your seat upholstery in good condition

Sweat and, in particular, dye transfer from new clothes (such as dark jeans) are the main causes of stains on upholstery. Avoid sitting down in damp or dusty clothes, as friction causes dirt to become embedded in the fabric or the pores of the leather.

Use only cleaners designed for leather or automotive fabric. Avoid all-purpose household cleaners, baby wipes or products containing alcohol. These harsh chemicals dry out the material, weaken the seams and can strip the seat of its original dye.

UV rays and constant high temperatures are the interior’s worst enemy. They dry out, crack and fade the seat upholstery, particularly on the upper part of the backrest. Use sunshades or sun protection films to prolong the life and elasticity of the material.

Contact with trouser rivets, keys in back pockets or pets’ claws can cause irreversible tears, snags and cuts. Always check what’s in your pockets before sitting down to avoid structural damage to the surface.

Just like your skin, the leather on your seats needs to be moisturised to prevent it from cracking. Apply a specific conditioner or protective cream every 4 to 6 months. This keeps the side panels supple, as these are the areas that suffer the most wear and tear when getting in and out of the car.

Always use clean microfibre cloths for cleaning. It is essential to vacuum the seams and folds thoroughly before cleaning; otherwise, solid dirt will act like sandpaper when rubbed with the cloth. Gently rub the surface without applying excessive pressure.
